BOXING DAY, 28th DEC & NEW YEAR'S DAY

The thrill and excitement of The New Zealand Herald Christmas Carnival is a long-standing highlight of the Auckland social calendar!

What a party! Over 25,000 people flocked to Ellerslie to enjoy the institution that is the Boxing Day Races. If you were there, make sure to take a peek at some of the day's pics in the Fujifilm Paparazzi Gallery OR  check out who took top honours in the hotly-contested VIVA Fashions in the Field competition.

Thinking about the best way to recover from the madness of New Year's Eve? How about spending the first day of the New Year at Ellerslie where you can swap the fascinators for the flip flops and choose soak up the effects of the previous night with a classic kiwi feast on the Alfresco BBQ Lawn OR front up (perhaps even keep going!?) with a boot party in the Ellerslie Infield- all while checking out the action from some of New Zealand's best thoroughbred races!

And boys, don't let us forget to remind you to bring your cameras! Did we mention that New Zealand's very own supermodel Kylie Bax will be oncourse?!?

Party after the last race! The infamous Birdcage Bash* is back on New Year's Day, with Ellerslie's new resident DJ - Kieran Bell, entertaining the crowd as the sun goes down.

* Access to the Birdcage Bash (in Cuvee) is free after the last race however please note this is an R18 event, a dress code applies and intoxicated persons will not be permitted.
